Public Active Civic Participation

Civic engagement in social and political processes is among the most important pillars of democracy. In this project, Tishreen aims to improve the communication and linkages between local authorities and their constituents, thus enhancing transparency and accountability.

The scope of work includes building an effective workforce composed of neighborhood representatives, municipal council members, representatives of public committee civil society representatives, and independent activists. The aim of this workforce will be to follow up and address issues of concern to the community in an interactive and participatory manner. This process includes training workforce members in participatory governance and strengthening communication processes between stakeholders to increasing the efficiency of their contribution to the wellbeing of the community.

Public Active Civic Participation

Program objectives:

A) To form and train working groups of local residents and strengthen communication processes between the local community and its local leadership and local authority.

B) To promote citizens' participation in local governance.

C) To promote understanding of problematic issues in each community.

D) To collectively address issues of local concern by strengthening citizen and civil society involvement in institutional processes, thus achieving greater and more sustainable impact in the community.
