Tishreen Facilitators and leaders of “Youth Leadership for Safe Society Program” Participated in the 16 days Campaign for Combating violence against women and produced three videos since Tishreen is part of the coalition which consists from 14 civil society and women organizations in Iasrel , which is administered by “Kayan Organization”. This campaign is a global initiative led by the UN Secretary-General. It began on 25/11/2020 each year, The International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women, and concludes on 10/12/2020, International Human Rights Day.
This year in conjunction with the global campaign, the coalition, which brings together Arab and women’s rights associations, continues a massive “Don’t Keep it in Your Heart” campaign against all forms of violence faced by women, which have seen a painful increase in 2020, with closures, quarantines and emergency health measures that have trapped many women in the cycle of violence. During the campaign, the Coalition conducted a campaign of 30 awareness and protest activities in schools, streets and mass centres in Arab towns, starting from 25/11/2020, along with a social media campaign, addressing the masses of different women through various videos and media messages, exposing violence highlighted by the Coronavirus period, such as psychological violence, economic violence, post-separation violence, violence against women with disabilities, etc. Confidentiality, providing safe professional addresses, for women’s attitudes in these cases.
On the closing day of the campaign Tishreen association and its Trained facilitators worked with 10 school students from each school and produced 3 short videos please. Videos were presented with Iben Sina School, Al Majd Secondary School and Al Atid AL Najah high School. The students presented quotes that emphasized women’s rights and raising awareness of combating violence in all its forms as the the first step to get out of this deadly circle, and participation, rather than silence, is the second and most important step. We hope that the campaign will raise awareness and reduce violence against women. The videos were also broadcasted in the three schools social media pages and on their websites as well as on Tishreen website and social media pages reaching to more than 5000 viewers.
