About the project:
The Triangle Cinema Forum project seeks to support the film culture in the Triangle region and Palestinian society. It aims to work specifically among the youth group, through the implementation of a series of educational meetings aimed at offering a closer look into the world of cinema and film production. This will be done by linking the field of cinema and the world of theater and improvisation to the societal problems faced by participants. We wish to produce two short feature films, by professionals in the field. In addition, we would like to offer a platform for the participants to take support roles behind the camera, so that they can be involved in an in-depth cinematic experience.
The films will simulate the societal reality in the triangle region and that of the Palestinian society. The ideas for the films will be inspired by the problems posed by the participants in the project, and we aim to have the participants as an assistant crew during the filming days.
Project objectives:
Using the film art medium as a tool for social change.
To be a pioneering project that seeks primarily to give young men and women in our society the opportunity to raise their voice and build an artistic movement, capable of changing societal concepts.
To offer participants space to get acquainted with the field of cinema and give them the opportunity to participate in the making of critical film work.
Building and strengthening the youth's cinematic production capabilities and encouraging them to create and produce independent and advanced film cultural production.
To refine and develop political and community awareness.
Develop and practice the concept of volunteerism and belonging to the country and society.
A professional network for actors in the field of Cinema
This project will be extended through a series of theoretical and practical meetings discussing the world of Cinema. Starting with the script and its anecdotal laws, script writing, including all the steps that precede it, such as summary and processing, which are important in the design of the script.
Later, we will examine the director's role, while looking at the different stages in the film industry. We will also talk about the different types of outputs we can produce. Let us not forget the history of cinema, the different currents that characterized the world of cinema, and even greatly influenced its future, such as the new Italian Realism, the French New Wave, and the characteristics that shaped each of these currents.
Finally, we will also learn about one of the relatively new movements in the film world: “The Dogma 95”, in addition to the technical workshops, which have a theoretical and practical aspect, such as photography, lighting and editing.
We see the Triangle Cinema Forum project as a starting step from which we can only develop and grow. The film production we wish to see will represent young participants outlook and the Palestinian society’s reality.
