July 6, 2020On June 19, 2020, an amazing group of university students had graduated from Tishreen’s Youth Leadership for Safe Community Project.
The students participated in a Training of Trainers intensive course last summer. During the current school year they trained 10th grade students from 6 schools in the Triangle Region (in Kufur-Qaraa’, Qalansuwa, Taybeh and Kufur-Kasem ).
The training and workshops included modules on leadership skills, social engagement, volunteerism, social diversity, democracy, and most importantly, communal violence in all its forms.
The program successfully empowered a group of young leaders and encouraged high school students i to engage in social activism related to communal violence in their local communities.
As we conclude the project for this year, we would like to thank everyone who took part and contributed to the success of the program.
We thank our consultant Mohamad Marzook for accompanying the project and leading the Training of Trainers program, Malak Farooge for preparing and editing the training manual, and Asil Matani for accompanying and coordinating the project.
Stay tuned for more updates from Tishreen.
