We provide the general public with opportunities to attend and experience various cultural events and performances.  This increases opportunities for exposure to culture and also stimulates discussion on issues of importance to our society.  Tishreen has sponsored – to tremendous success – a number of artistic endeavors that shed a critical light on Arab Palestinian society.  Due to the exceptional demand and very strong positive feedback, others has been inspired by Tishreen’s work specifically in relation to the arts.  Indeed, we have observed that here is a significant increase in demand for such events and a willingness to devote time and effort to ensure that they come to fruition.  Furthermore, our region is home to a treasure of artists including nationally renowned actors and painters.

At Tishreen, we believe that the arts are an important avenue for influencing social values.  They can promote enlightened, progressive, humanistic and democratic values and serve as a key driver for communal development, critical discourse and social change.

Through the cultural club, composed of activists with different backgrounds, Tishreen tries to keep promoting cultural enrichment and cultural production, rather than mere cultural and artistic “consumption”. We also do this through partnerships with other civil society and cultural actors in the region which share with us the vision of promoting cultural and artistic expression.
